Sit or Squat

I heard about www.sitorsquat.com on Today Show segment with Kathie Lee & Hoda. At first I thought it was amusing. But, then, I thought it to be a most useful thing. You type in a city - anywhere in the world and its map comes up with icons for available public toilets or restrooms. You can add a toilet if you happen to know about one that’s not on the map. See the legend down in the bottom right corner about the colors of the icons.

The iphone/ipodTouch has an app for sitorsquat. So, if you’re going to Paducah for the big quilt show week after next, you might want to remember that website – you might find it useful. You might find a new toilet to stick on the map.

Here’s a link to the segment with Kathie Lee & Hoda. http://tinyurl.com/demaht Skip to 4:17 for the item about SOS.

The website is sponsored by Charmin toilet paper. Isn’t that a hoot!

Mother Nature has a sense of humor

That’s our beautiful Pon Gam tree in the front yard. Actually, it’s half of what it originally was. It broke my heart when Hurricane Wilma 2005 blew her down and split her in two. I love the tree cuz it has such character.DH & some neighbors trimmed her up and righted her. We didn’t have too much hope for survival cuz the tree was really in bad shape. But, survive, it did! We bought one of those silly faces that you put on tree trunks. The “face” faces the house, not visible from the street. I smile when I see it.
See that “tuft of hair” above the face? Here’s a close-up. We did not put that air plant there. Mother Nature did that. A real sense of humor, I’d say. Perfectly placed. Probably apologizing for what Wilma did.

Joy from Peg

Every once in a while, my younger sister Peg sends me neat stuff. Here's a link to the latest one she sent -- http://www.thejoymovie.com/ I thought it was a good one. Sit back & relax with that one. It's good for some inspiration.

And, what struck me is that my other younger sister’s name is Joy! Lucky Joy, not everyone has a movie and a boat named after them!
